WE ARE THRILLED TO HAVE HAD EXCELLENT WORKSHOPS WITH DANY BENSHALOM, A TEACHER OF GREAT RENOWN IN ISRAEL & THE USA. DANY IS THE CO-ORDINATOR OF THE ANNUAL FOREIGN TEACHERS SUMMER COURSE HELD AT KARMIEL IN ISRAEL. THE LAST 3 DAYS OF THE TEACHERS' COURSE, CULIMINATES AT THE KARMIEL DANCE FESTIVAL....AN EVENT NOT TO BE MISSED! RICHELLE WAS A PARTICIPANT IN THE COURSE IN 2003, AND THIS IS WHERE SHE MET DANY FOR THE FIRST TIME. WE HAVE POSTED SOME FURTHER INFORMATION ABOUT DANY IN OUR "NEWS AND EVENTS" SECTION
Dany taught some fabulous dances - a mix of old and new. We had separate workshops for beginners to low-intermediate,and for intermediate to advanced dancers. Dany taught with clarity, with
humour, and with style. We have had excellent feedback from all of the
dancers who participated.
With so many of our own dancers away overseas, (mostly enjoying Yom Ha
atzmaut celebrations in Israel!) we would particularly like to thank the teachers and our dancing friends from Hora and Machol for participating & to help us make Dany feel so welcome in his first visit to Melbourne.

YOM HA'ATZMAUT FAMILY FESTIVAL - SUNDAY MAY 25TH AT GANDEL BESEN HOUSE,(MT SCOPUS COLLEGE) 15 MAYFIELD ST. EAST ST KILDA. Israel-style carnival including interactive stalls, face painting, films, amusements, Dorothy the Dinosaur, Israeli fashion show, Battle of the Bands, Israeli Dancing, food stalls. Israeli dances for beginners from 2pm - 3pm. Israeli dancing for intermediate to advanced dancers will be from 7 pm to 9.30 pm. Last year Richelle thought it would be a fantastic idea to get all the Israeli dancing groups in Melbourne to combine to have one big dance party to celebrate Israel's 60th Anniversary. She was instrumental in getting this organised. We are very pleased the State Zionist Council agreed to co-ordinate it, as we think it will be a great experience for our dancers. It has been many years since there has been a combined dance party, and most of our ZOOZ dancers have not been dancing long enough to remember the last event. For our intermediate/advanced dancers, we hope you can come along with your families during the day and later on participate in the Israeli dancing session in the evening. Cost will be only $2 which will be donated to a good cause in Israel. For all our beginners - it would be great if you could come to the afternoon session. This session is free. ZOOZ OFFERS A SPECIAL NEW BEGINNERS COURSE - 8 SESSIONS FOR ONLY $40. Get off to the best possible start by learning Israeli dancing in our beginner's sessions.
WE ARE DEFINITELY THE BEGINNERS SPECIALISTS. WE ARE COMMITTED TO TEACHING THE BASICS IN THE QUICKEST & BEST POSSIBLE WAY (& THE MOST FUN TOO!) SUGGEST TO YOUR FRIENDS TO GIVE US A TRY BEFORE COMMITTING TO CLASSES ANYWHERE ELSE.
The following classes FOLLOW after the NEW BEGINNERS CLASSES:-
Tuesday evening NEW Beginners at 7.30 pm sharp. Beginners Plus to Low Intermediate from 8.30 pm. At Community Hall, rear of St. John's, 5 Finch St East Malvern
Wednesday evening PARTNERS DANCING ONLY. 7.30PM beginners to Low Intermediate. Intermediate to High Intermediate from 8.30 pm - at Finch St East Malvern
Thursday morning NEW Beginners at 9.30 am sharp. Beginners Plus to Low Intermediate from 10.30am at Scout Hall, 2 Miller St. Elsternwick
Monday evening (WOMEN ONLY)(NEW BEGINNERS AT 8.15 PM. Beginners Plus to low-intermediate from 9.15 pm. at Elsternwick Hall (see above)
TUESDAY MORNING (Elsternwick) & THURSDAY NIGHT (E.Malvern) ARE OUR MOST ADVANCED SESSIONS - Intermediate to Advanced levels. BOTH CLASSES ARE FABULOUS SESSIONS -GREAT ENERGY AND ENTHUSIASM - NOT TO BE MISSED!

Once again our ZOOZ'ies turned up in strength and we truly had a magnificent party on Thursday 20th March 2008. You guys really know how to party! Most of the dancers came in costume which was very pleasing. Some of our dancers went to a lot of effort to put together their outstanding fancy dress costumes, as you will see when you look at our photos which will soon be uploaded on the Photo Gallery. We had a terrific supper - lovely fresh fruit beautifully presented as usual by Jack & Suzy, plenty of nibbles, and of course, the Hamentashen. Our hall decorations looked incredible with a Purim theme representing Haman being hung.........once again Claude outdid himself. Thanks so much to Gracie for her help in blowing up all the balloons and helping to decorate the hall. The hall looked sensational.
